Third edition of coursebook published in Sepember 2007
The Center’s Chair, Philip Alston, is a co-author of one of the leading coursebooks in the field, International Human Rights in Context: Law, Politics, Morals. The first and second editions of this book were co-authored with Professor Henry J. Steiner, Director of Harvard Law School's Human Rights Program.
The third edition was published by Oxford University Press in September 2007. Steiner and Alston have been joined by a third co-author, Prof. Ryan Goodman, Rita E. Hauser Professor of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and Director of the Human Rights Program at Harvard Law School.
Upon request, instructors can access uncorrected proofs of the entire manuscript as pdf files via an FTP site. In addition, instructors in the US may request hard copies of selected chapters. Please contact Kimberley Rimmer (kimberley.rimmer@oup.com).
Syllabi
The Center seeks to generate innovative teaching materials, both for use within the curriculum of NYU Law School and elsewhere. In furtherance of this objective we publish on this website a selection of course syllabi which might be of broader interest to students and teachers of human rights.
